Self hypnosis techniques
We all want to be positive and assertive individuals, wishing to make a mark in the world. However negative thoughts and lack of self confidence may be holding us back, which can be corrected easily using the self hypnosis techniques. One can learn self hypnosis by listening to the tapes and CDs published by the experts or by taking training under experienced hypnotherapists. Here are some simple steps to learn self hypnosis:
- Before starting with self hypnosis one must be very clear about their goals and ambitions. What they want to achieve should be jotted down using pen and paper. List down realistic goals which are achievable. Write them in a short concise manner and try to list not more than 2 goals in one self hypnosis session.
- You then need to prepare a detailed motivational write up, which you would play or read during your self hypnosis session. This write up should contain lots of positive suggestions and guidance for each of your goals and every suggestion should be reinforced again and again so that it gets embedded deeply into your subconscious.
- One can even create symbols or use pictures which will help in clear visualization of goals and dreams. These images should push you towards attaining your goals and make you think that you can achieve them without a doubt. Use personalized language and images that you can easily relate to.
- While starting with the self hypnosis session, find a quiet place free from disturbance and play soft soothing music. Do not indulge in any activity requiring high alertness while practicing self hypnosis. Wear comfortable clothes and sit in a relaxing posture when beginning with self hypnosis therapy.
- Before entering hypnosis, calm your mind using deep breaths and other relaxation techniques taught by hypnotherapists. Concentrate on your mind and stop analyzing, worrying or criticizing things. Start the self hypnosis session by speaking in normal voice slowly. As you continue with the self hypnosis session, soften your voice further and speak at much more relaxed pace. During the end of the self hypnosis session, you can again use normal voice.
- During initial couple of self hypnosis session, you might feel agitated and would not be able to relax completely. This inner resistance would disappear in just couple of sessions. After completing the self hypnosis session, tell yourself you would be totally relaxed and calm once you leave the state of trance.
Practice makes a man perfect, so don’t be disheartened if you are unable to fully concentrate during your first self hypnosis session as it will improve with time.
